Play: We've Got The Victory


On Friday, December 16, 2016, Celeste Bateman & Assocs., LLC,, in association with Newark Symphony Hall's (NSH) “Arts OnStage” series, will revive their production of We’ve Got the Victory, a Gospel Musical featuring stories, songs and music inspired by the Bible. The production is at the Newark Theater (2nd floor Black Box) at Newark Symphony Hall, 1020 Broad Street in downtown Newark, NJ at 7:00 p.m.

Victory, conceived, directed and produced by Celeste Bateman, weaves stories, music, narration and songs into a drama with music that loosely traces the Bible from The Creation to The Resurrection. The production premiered in 1999 at Metropolitan Baptist Church.

The December 16th performance will feature the Solid Rock Players: Singers Gail Lou, Malo Cozart and Kim Armstrong; Narrators Celeste Bateman and Andre DeSandies and Actor, Andrew Binger. The story moves along with a four piece band under the guidance of Musical Director Gail Lou DeSandies and Assistant Musical Director Linell Andrews on keyboard.
